A model quantum system is proposed to describe position states of a massive body in flat space on large scales, excluding all standard quantum and gravitational degrees of freedom. The model is based on standard quantum spin commutators, with operators interpreted as positions instead of spin, and a Planck-scale length $\ell_P$ in place of Planck's constant $\hbar$. The algebra is used to derive a new quantum geometrical uncertainty in direction, with variance given by $\langle \Delta \theta^2…

A quantum theory of distance along a curve

We present a quantum theory of distances along a curve, based on a linear line element that is equal to the operator square root of the quadratic metric of Riemannian geometry. Since the linear line

Interferometric tests of Planckian quantum geometry models

The effect of Planck scale quantum geometrical effects on measurements with interferometers is estimated with standard physics, and with a variety of proposed extensions. It is shown that effects are

Statistical measures of Planck scale signal correlations in interferometers

A model-independent statistical framework is presented to interpret data from systems where the mean time derivative of positional cross correlation between world lines, a measure of spreading in a

Thermal duality and gravitational collapse

Thermal duality is a relationship between the behaviour of heterotic string models of the E(8)×E(8) or SO(32) types at inversely related temperatures, a variant of T duality in the Euclidean regime.

Nonlocal entanglement and directional correlations of primordial perturbations on the inflationary horizon

Models are developed to estimate properties of relic cosmic perturbations with "spooky" nonlocal correlations on the inflationary horizon, analogous to those previously posited for information on

Inflation with Spooky Correlations

Models are developed to estimate properties of relic cosmic perturbations with "spooky" nonlocal correlations on the inflationary horizon, analogous to those previously posited for information on

Directional Entanglement of Quantum Fields with Quantum Geometry

It is conjectured that the spatial structure of quantum field states is influenced by a new kind of directional indeterminacy of quantum geometry set by the Planck length, $l_P$, that does not occur

Noncommutative Geometry

Noncommutative Spaces It was noticed a long time ago that various properties of sets of points can be restated in terms of properties of certain commutative rings of functions over those sets. In
