We show that a flame tracking /capturing scheme originally developed for deflagration fro ts can be used to model thermonuclear detonations in multidimensional explosion simulations of type Ia supernovae. After testing the accura cy of the front model, we present a set of two-dimensional simulation s f delayed detonations with a physically motivated o ff-center deflagration-detonation-transition point.
