A new meroisoprenoid (1), two heptenolides (2 and 3), two C-benzylated flavonoids (4 and 5), and 11 known compounds (6–16) were isolated from leaf, stem bark, and root bark extracts of Sphaerocoryne gracilis ssp. gracilis by chromatographic separation. The structures of the new metabolites 1–5 were established by NMR, IR, and UV spectroscopic and mass spectrometric data analysis. (Z)-Sphaerodiol (7), (Z)-acetylmelodorinol (8), 7-hydroxy-6-hydromelodienone (10), and dichamanetin (15) inhibited…

All new compounds (1-5) were evaluated for their antimicrobial activity against a panel of clinically significant microorganisms and showed significant antimicrobial effect on Staphylococus aureus.
Secoiridoids and Iridoids from Morinda asteroscepa
The new 2,3-secoiridoids morisecoiridoic acids A (1) and B (2), the new iridoid 8-acetoxyepishanzilactone (3), and four additional known iridoids (4–7) were isolated from the leaf and stem bark
Flavonoids with Inhibitory Effects on NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation from Millettia velutina.
Compound 6 exerted potent protective effects in the LPS-induced septic shock mice model by improving the survival rate of mice and suppressing serum IL-1β release and demonstrated that compound 6 had the potential to be developed as a broad-spectrum NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor for the treatment ofNLRP3-related disease.

Chemical studies on the annonaceae. Part 9. Indolosesquiterpene and aporphine alkaloids from Greenwayodendron(Polyalthia)suaveolens stem bark. X-Ray crystal stucture of greenwayodendrin-3-one
The isolation and characterization of ten alkaloids, viz. five indolosesquiterpenes and five aporphines, and the triterpene polycarpol from the stem bark of G. suaveolens are reported. Four of the
Bioassay-guided isolation of constituents of Piper sarmentosum using a mitochondrial transmembrane potential assay.
This is the first time that C-benzylated dihydroflavones have been reported to demonstrate an apoptotic effect associated with disruption of the mitochondrial transmembrane potential.
Polyoxygenated Cyclohexenes and Other Constituents of Cleistochlamys kirkii Leaves.
Thirteen new metabolites, including the polyoxygenated cyclohexenoids and heptenolides in C. kirkii are of biogenetic and chemotaxonomic significance, and none of the compounds investigated exhibited translational inhibitory activity in vitro at 20 μM.
Structural modification of 5,7-dimethoxyflavone from Kaempferia parviflora and biological activities
Five,7-Dimethoxyflavone, a major compound from Kaempferia parviflora, was used as a starting material for structural modification and seven flavonoid derivatives have been synthesized from this flavone, showing cytotoxicity nearly equal to the tamoxifen standard.
Additional bioactive heptenes from Melodorum fruticosum.
Four additional new bioactive heptenes have been isolated from Melodorum fruticosum, and their structures have been determined by comparison of their 1H-nmr, 13C-nmR, and mass spectral data with those of prototype compounds.
Circular dichroism and absolute configuration of Aza‐ and Thiaflavanones
The correlation between the absolute configuration and CD of aza- and thiaflavanone (1, 2) is discussed: the 2R configuration for the laevorotatory enantiomers has been established by a comparison of
Circular dichroism, a powerful tool for the assessment of absolute configuration of flavonoids.
Results relevant to the correlation of circular dichroic data and the absolute configuration of the diastereoisomers of some of the above classes of compounds will be discussed.
Synthesis of new α, β -unsaturated butenolides
A number of new g -substituted a , b -unsaturated butenolides have been synthesized by the condensation of phenols with b -(3-nitrobenzoyl)acrylic acid and b -(4-methyl-3-nitrobenzoyl)acrylic acid.
