We present structural parameters from a wide-field homogeneous imaging survey of Milky Way satellites carried out with the MegaCam imagers on the 3.6 m Canada–France–Hawaii Telescope and 6.5 m Magellan-Clay telescope. Our survey targets an unbiased sample of “outer halo” satellites (i.e., substructures having galactocentric distances greater than 25 kpc) and includes classical dSph galaxies, ultra-faint dwarfs, and remote globular clusters. We combine deep, panoramic gr imaging for 44…
A MegaCam Survey of Outer Halo Satellites. I. Description of the Survey
We describe a deep, systematic imaging study of satellites in the outer halo of the Milky Way. Our sample consists of 58 stellar overdensities—i.e., substructures classified as either globular
A MegaCam Survey of Outer Halo Satellites. VII. A Single Sérsic Index versus Effective Radius Relation for Milky Way Outer Halo Satellites
In this work, we use structural properties of the Milky Way’s outer halo (RG > 25 kpc) satellites (dwarf spheroidal galaxies, ultra-faint dwarf (UFD) galaxies and globular clusters (GCs)) derived
Hubble Space Telescope Observations of NGC 253 Dwarf Satellites: Three Ultra-faint Dwarf Galaxies
We present deep Hubble Space Telescope (HST) imaging of five faint dwarf galaxies associated with the nearby spiral NGC 253 (D ≈ 3.5 Mpc). Three of these are newly discovered dwarf galaxies, while
Milky Way Satellite Census. I. The Observational Selection Function for Milky Way Satellites in DES Y3 and Pan-STARRS DR1
We report the results of a systematic search for ultra-faint Milky Way satellite galaxies using data from the Dark Energy Survey (DES) and Pan-STARRS1 (PS1). Together, DES and PS1 provide multi-band
Resolved Dwarf Galaxy Searches within ∼5 Mpc with the Vera Rubin Observatory and Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam
We present a preview of the faint dwarf galaxy discoveries that will be possible with the Vera C. Rubin Observatory and Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam in the next decade. In this work, we combine deep
Luminosity Functions and Host-to-host Scatter of Dwarf Satellite Systems in the Local Volume
Low-mass satellites around Milky Way (MW)-like galaxies are important probes of small-scale structure and galaxy formation. However, confirmation of satellite candidates with distance measurements
Faint Stars in a Faint Galaxy. I. Ultradeep Photometry of the Boötes I Ultrafaint Dwarf Galaxy
We present an analysis of new, extremely deep images of the resolved stellar population of the Boötes I ultrafaint dwarf spheroidal galaxy. These new data were taken with the Hubble Space Telescope,
Hubble Space Telescope Imaging of Isolated Local Volume Dwarfs GALFA Dw3 and Dw4
We present observations of the dwarf galaxies GALFA Dw3 and GALFA Dw4 with the Advanced Camera for Surveys on the Hubble Space Telescope. These galaxies were initially discovered as optical
The Dragonfly Nearby Galaxies Survey. V. HST/ACS Observations of 23 Low Surface Brightness Objects in the Fields of NGC 1052, NGC 1084, M96, and NGC 4258
We present Hubble Space Telescope/Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) imaging of 23 very low surface brightness (μe,V ∼ 25–27.5) galaxies detected in the fields of four nearby galaxy groups. These
A Collection of New Dwarf Galaxies in NGC 5128’s Western Halo
We report the photometric properties of 16 dwarf galaxies, 15 of which are newly identified, in the Western halo of the nearby giant elliptical galaxy NGC 5128. All of the candidates are found at

A Comprehensive Maximum Likelihood Analysis of the Structural Properties of Faint Milky Way Satellites
