A METHOD FOR GROWTH-BASED PROCEDURAL FLOOR PLAN GENERATION

We present a procedural method to create floor plans considering user-provided requisites as well as the constraint of a building’s exterior walls. First, a grid is created in the available space. Then, each room is placed to occupy a single cell in the grid, and subsequently expanded, occupying adjacent cells to achieve its final size. This growth-based approach can generate different interior models which follow user requisites without relying on costly optimization steps. The proposed method…

A Preliminary Approach to Allocate Categories of Buildings into Lands based on Generative Design

This paper proposes a workflow that allocates houses on a plot of land that starts with GIS data and urban planning requirements and ends with a BIM model on that property and tackles the design process of allocation of houses by iterating and optimizing a parametric model.

Simulating Large-Scale 3D Cadastral Dataset Using Procedural Modelling

The results of the study show that the method is feasible for the simulation of large-scale 3D cadastral datasets and demonstrate the importance of the simulated dataset for developing efficient 3D Cadastral data management processes.

Constrained procedural floor plan generation for game environments

Paradigms Arctic is a game development studio that aims to be the "go-to place" for procedural content generation in the games industry.

Developing a Framework for Heterotopias as Discursive Playgrounds: A Comparative Analysis of Non-Immersive and Immersive Technologies

This study provides virtual museum space as an informational terrain that contains a “world within worlds” and presents place production as a layer of heterotopia and the subject of discourse and shows that the framework can serve diverse contexts to construct multilayered digital habitats and is flexible for integration into professional and daily life practices.
