Asymptotic Controllability And Feedback Stabilization
- Mathematics

It is shown that every asymptotically controllable system can be stabilized by means of some (discontinuous) feedback law. One of the contributions of the paper is in defining precisely the meaning…
Continuous control-Lyapunov functions for asymptotically controllable time-varying systems

This paper shows that, for time varying systems, global asymptotic controllability to a given closed subset of the state space is equivalent to the existence of a continuous control-Lyapunov function…

We demonstrate the existence of a smooth control-Lyapunov function (CLF) for difference equations asymptotically controllable to closed sets. This follows from a more general result on the existence…
External stabilization of discontinuous systems and nonsmooth control Lyapunov-like functions.

The main result of this note is an external stabilizability theorem for discontinuous systems affine in the control (with solutions intended in the Filippov’s sense). In order to get it we first…

A general notion of global asymptotic controllability for time-varying systems and its Lyapunov characterization

A general notion of global asymptotic controllability to a given equilibrium of a time-varying system is introduced and is shown that this property is equivalent to the existence of a lower…

We deal with the question of obtaining explicit feedback control laws that stabilize a nonlinear system, under the assumption that a \control Lyapunov function" is known. In previous work, the case…

A Characterization of the Reachable Set for Nonlinear Control Systems
- Mathematics

The question of whether a set is reachable by a nonlinear control system is answered in terms of the properties of a convex optimization problem. The set is reachable or not according to whether the…

We show that, in general, it is impossible to stabilize a controllable system by means of a continuous feedback, even if memory is allowed. No optimality considerations are involved. All state spaces…
