This paper introduces a high efficient compression method for power quality (PQ) signals. The proposed method makes use of the interpolated discrete Fourier transform algorithm for estimating the parameters (amplitude, frequency, and phase) of the fundamental and harmonic components and separates them from the transient ones in the original PQ signal.
