Standardization and quantification are the two essential tools in determining usefulness of a plant based drug. The present study aims to look at these factors in relation with rutin, a bioflavonoid derived from Caralluma nilagiriana. Many Caralluma species have been known to possess antipyretic, antitumor, antifungal, analgesic, diabetes and leprosy.
