In Liang et al (2009), the current authors demonstrated that BSDEs can be reformulated as functional differential equations, and as an application, they solved BSDEs on general filtered probability spaces. In this paper the authors continue the study of functional differential equations and demonstrate how such approach can be used to solve FBSDEs. By this approach the equations can be solved in one direction altogether rather than in a forward and backward way. The solutions of FBSDEs are then… Expand
A functional approach to backward stochastic dynamics
In this thesis, we consider a class of stochastic dynamics running backwards, so called backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs) in the literature. We demonstrate BSDEs can be reformulatedExpand
A Multidimensional Exponential Utility Indifference Pricing Model with Applications to Counterparty Risk
TLDR
The splitting method is used, whose convergence is proved based on the Barles-Souganidis monotone scheme, and the convergence rate is derived based on Krylov's shaking the coefficients technique, to derive an approximation for the utility indifference price. Expand
Fully coupled forward–backward stochastic dynamics and functional differential systems
This article introduces and solves a general class of fully coupled forward-backward stochastic dynamics by investigating the associated system of functional differential equations. As a consequence,Expand

Backward stochastic differential equations in finance
Abstract The dissertation is built on the paper “Backward Stochastic Dynamics on a filtered probability Space” done by G. Liang, T. Lyons and Z. Qian [27]. They demonstrate that backward stochasticExpand
Weak solutions for forward–backward SDEs—a martingale problem approach
In this paper, we propose a new notion of Forward--Backward Martingale Problem (FBMP), and study its relationship with the weak solution to the forward--backward stochastic differential equationsExpand

Weak Solutions of Forward–Backward SDE's
In this note we study a class of forward–backward stochastic differential equations (FBSDE for short) with functional-type terminal conditions. In the case when the time duration and the coefficientsExpand
Solving forward-backward stochastic differential equations explicitly — a four step scheme

A class of quadratic backward stochastic differential equations, which arises naturally in the utility maximization problem with portfolio constraints, is studied. Expand
Backward stochastic dynamics on a filtered probability space
We demonstrate that backward stochastic differential equations (BSDE) may be reformulated as ordinary functional differential equations on certain path spaces. In this framework, neither Ito'sExpand
On Weak Solutions of Backward Stochastic Differential Equations

Quadratic BSDEs with convex generators and unbounded terminal conditions
In Briand and Hu (Probab Theory Relat Fields 136(4):604–618, 2006), the authors proved an existence result for BSDEs with quadratic generators with respect to the variable z and with unboundedExpand
