A Full Featured Ultrasound NDE System in a Standard FPGA

  title={A Full Featured Ultrasound NDE System in a Standard FPGA},
  author={Carlos Fritsch and Jorge Camacho and Alberto Ib{\'a}{\~n}ez and Jose Brizuela and R. Gonzalez}
This work presents a new NDE system based on a pipelined architecture built into a low-cost FPGA. Flaw detectability is improved by two means: first, by migrating some traditionally analog functions, like filtering and envelope extraction to the digital domain. Second, by including some Digital Signal Processing functions in the processing chain, mainly an effective EMI noise filter and a data compression algorithm which keeps all the flaw-relevant information. These algorithms coexist with…

Architecture of the reconfigurable ultrasonic system-on-chip hardware platform
The reconfigurable ultrasonic system-on-chip hardware (RUSH) platform provides a common basis which significantly reduces the effort required to develop an ultrasonic signal processing system able to process the full range of ultrasound from 20 kHz to 20 MHz.
Electronics for Ultrasonic Imaging System
Design of ultrasonic imaging system is presented. System has a modular structure with main acquisition and front end electronics separated in order to have minimal path for host PC connectivity and
Erosion technique to ultrasonic data reduction in material inspection
A proposed method that reduces the data storage to only those regarding a detected defect, performed in real time by exploiting a modified approach of the erosion technique that involves simple calculations, suitable in case of online monitoring.
Ultrasound sensing and hand gesture recognition for dexterous prosthetic devices
This thesis has explored and successfully tackled the practical control problems of dexterous prostheses using Sonomyography (SMG) and presented a novel wearable and portable SMG capturing system with performances on a par with myoelectric methods.

A pipelined architecture for high speed automated NDE
