A partial skeleton of a fossil stork of the genus Leptoptilos from the Ngorora Formation in Kenya, is one of the most complete specimens of fossil stork known. It is about 11.5 my in age, and therefore is one of the earliest representatives of the genus. In linear dimensions it is considerably larger than the contemporary African Marabou, Leptoptilos crumeniferus, and in size is more comparable to L. dubius, an Asian form.
