a new cross-layer resource allocation scheme based on OFDMA systems was proposed to maximize overall data throughput on the premise of achieving diverse QoS, simultaneously, to ensure fairness between users as much as possible. The scheme takes full account of the QoS requirements at MAC layer and large-scale fading characteristics of wireless channels, and makes a joint design of packet scheduling at the MAC layer and resource allocation at the physical layer.
