This paper addresses the position trajectory contro l of a hydraulic actuator by combining a fixed cascade con troller including the valve dynamic with an adaptive dead-z one compensation scheme. Amongst the hydraulic actuator s nonlinearities, the valve dead-zone is one of the m ain position error sources in the hydraulic actuator closed loop c ntrol.
