We present a cosmic void catalog using the large-scale structure galaxy catalog from the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS). This galaxy catalog is part of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 12 and is the final catalog of SDSS-III. We take into account the survey boundaries, masks, and angular and radial selection functions, and apply the ZOBOV void finding algorithm to the Galaxy catalog. We identify a total of 10,643 voids. After making quality cuts to ensure that…

Cosmic Voids in the SDSS DR12 BOSS Galaxy Sample: the Alcock–Paczyński test

We apply the Alcock–Paczyński (AP) test to stacked voids identified using the final data release (DR12) of the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS). We also use 1000 mock galaxy catalogs

Star Formation Properties of Sloan Digital Sky Survey BOSS Void Galaxies in the Hyper Suprime-Cam Survey

We utilize the Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC) Wide Survey to explore the properties of galaxies located in the voids identified from the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey up to z ∼ 0.7. The HSC

Constraints on the growth of structure around cosmic voids in eBOSS DR14

We present catalogues of cosmic voids identified in the distribution of Luminous Red Galaxies (LRGs) and Quasi Stellar Objects (QSOs) in the fourteenth data release (DR14) of the extended Baryon

Cosmological exploitation of the size function of cosmic voids identified in the distribution of biased tracers

Cosmic voids are large underdense regions that, together with galaxy clusters, filaments and walls, build-up the large-scale structure of the Universe. The void size function provides a powerful

Metal Abundances and Star Formation Rates of Emission-line Galaxies in and around the Boötes Void

We explore the possible dependencies of galaxy metal abundance and star formation rate (SFR) on local environment, focusing on the volume of space in and around the Boötes Void. Our sample of

Deficit of luminous and normal red galaxies in cosmic voids

We construct a sample of 10 680 wall galaxies and 3064 void galaxies with MR ≲ −20 by cross-referencing a void catalogue from literature with Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS) CMASS

An Updated Catalog of Giant Radio Sources

We present a catalog of 349 giant radio sources (GRSs including both galaxies and quasars). The database contains all giants known to date from the literature. These GRSs cover the redshift range of

Active Galactic Nuclei Abundance in Cosmic Voids

The abundance of active galactic nuclei (AGN) in cosmic voids is relatively unexplored in the literature, but can potentially provide new constraints on the environmental dependence of AGN activity

Tracing the gravitational potential using cosmic voids

The properties of large underdensities in the distribution of galaxies in the Universe, known as cosmic voids, are potentially sensitive probes of fundamental physics. We use data from the MultiDark

On the relative bias of void tracers in the Dark Energy Survey

Luminous tracers of large-scale structure are not entirely representative of the distribution of mass in our Universe. As they arise from the highest peaks in the matter density field, the spatial

A PUBLIC VOID CATALOG FROM THE SDSS DR7 GALAXY REDSHIFT SURVEYS BASED ON THE WATERSHED TRANSFORM

We produce the most comprehensive public void catalog to date using the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7 main sample out to redshift z = 0.2 and the luminous red galaxy sample out to z = 0.44.

Cosmic Voids in Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7

We study the distribution of cosmic voids and void galaxies using Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7 (SDSS DR7). Using the VoidFinder algorithm as described by Hoyle & Vogeley (2002), we

Photometric Properties of Void Galaxies in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey

Using a nearest neighbor analysis, we construct a sample of void galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and compare the photometric properties of these galaxies to the population of

SDSS-III Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey Data Release 12: galaxy target selection and large-scale structure catalogues

The Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS), part of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) III project, has provided the largest survey of galaxy redshifts available to date, in terms of both

Spectroscopic Properties of Void Galaxies in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey

We study the spectroscopic properties of a sample of 103 void galaxies identified in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and compare these with the properties of galaxies in higher density regions

Voids in the SDSS DR9: observations, simulations, and the impact of the survey mask

ABSTRACT We present and study cosmic voids identi ed using the watershed void nder ZOBOV inthe Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 9, compare these voids to ones identi edin mock catalogs, and

SPECTRAL CLASSIFICATION AND REDSHIFT MEASUREMENT FOR THE SDSS-III BARYON OSCILLATION SPECTROSCOPIC SURVEY

We describe the automated spectral classification, redshift determination, and parameter measurement pipeline in use for the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS) of the Sloan Digital Sky

The Luminosity Function of Void Galaxies in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey

We measure the r-band luminosity function (LF) of a sample of 103 void galaxies over a large range of magnitude, -21.5 < Mr < -14.5. These objects were identified by Rojas et al. from the Sloan

Spectroscopic Target Selection in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey: The Main Galaxy Sample

We describe the algorithm that selects the main sample of galaxies for spectroscopy in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) from the photometric data obtained by the imaging survey. Galaxy photometric

THE BARYON OSCILLATION SPECTROSCOPIC SURVEY OF SDSS-III

The Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS) is designed to measure the scale of baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) in the clustering of matter over a larger volume than the combined efforts of
