Collaborative Web Platform for Rich Media Educational Material Creation
A platform for generation of multimedia presentations focused on the new paradigm related to social media, which deploys virtual teachers that provide natural interfaces while multimodal features remove barriers to pupils with disabilities is described.
Study of the Impact of Collaboration among Teachers in a Collaborative Authoring System
The aim of this research is to study the effects on the knowledge levels of learners of collaborative construction of learning objects created by the teachers and to present a collaborative authoring system called SAC, designed to be used in an academic environment.
The methodology has been conceived by taking into account several crucial issues, such as e-learning standards, accessibility, and easy of its application, and it can be integrated in a general methodology for big e- learning projects or used in small e-Learning projects in which the main task is the content creation.
A framework for awareness support in groupware systems
This paper summarizes the characteristics and the structure of BW, and discusses two applications that use it, designed to be used when developing new groupware applications and also to improve existent ones.
Teaching Document Production and Management with DOCBOOK
After some years of experience using Docbook to produce their teaching material the authors found productive tools and they developed some Docbook customizations.

sTeam: structuring information in team-distributed knowledge management in cooperative learning environments
It is concluded that top priority must be given to the construction of infrastructures that support cooperative learning processes if the authors are to properly harness the technologys potential.
Modeling Distributed Knowledge Processes in Next Generation Multidisciplinary Alliances*
This paper describes a multi-method approach for studying the tension between embedded and mobile knowledge in a project funded by the National Science Foundation's program on Knowledge and Distributed Intelligence, and proposes some alternate models of how knowledge is shared.
Distributed Learning Environment Using Advanced Services over the Internet
The proposed Integrated Distributed Learning Environment (IDLE) aims at providing an integrated communicational environment, which supplies the communicative needs of an educational community, using the latest telecommunication and multimedia information processing technology.
Taking the work out of workflow: Mechanisms for document-centered collaboration
This paper presents an infrastructure and a series of application examples to illustrate the idea of document-centered collaboration, in which coordination and collaboration are separated from and independent of applications.
Many people claim that e-learning is a waste of time. High dropout rates from e-learning courses, low learner satisfaction, ambiguous performance, seem to justify their opinion. But to the other
Cooperative workflows to coordinate asynchronous cooperative applications in a simple way
This paper introduces the concept of cooperative workflow, i.e. a workflow model which extends classical workflow models with capabilities to synchronize activities interacting not only when they start and when they terminate, but also at any point of their execution.
Facilitating Perception on Virtual Learningware based Environments
A model of support of perception for a groupware approach based upon communication, coordination and cooperation is presented and the suggested model is applied through learningware technology.
Designing a system for cooperative work on the World-Wide Web: experiences with the BSCW system

Flexible support for business processes: extending cooperative hypermedia with process support
An analysis of the communication, coordination and cooperation requirements of business processes reveals a gap in current computer support, and a cooperative hypermedia system with process support is proposed, called CHIPS, focusing on flexible business processes.
