We present a catalog of 9316 spectroscopically confirmed white dwarfs from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 4. We have selected the stars through photometric cuts and spectroscopic modeling, backed up by a set of visual inspections. About 6000 of the stars are new discoveries, roughly doubling the number of spectroscopically confirmed white dwarfs. We analyze the stars by performing temperature and surface gravity fits to grids of pure hydrogen and helium atmospheres. Among the rare…
New white dwarf stars in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 10
We report the discovery of 9 089 new spectroscopically confirmed white dwarfs and subdwarfs in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 10. We obtain Teff, log g and mass for hydrogen atmosphere
SDSS DR7 WHITE DWARF CATALOG
We present a new catalog of spectroscopically confirmed white dwarf stars from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 7 spectroscopic catalog. We find 20,407 white dwarf spectra,
An Improved Spectroscopic Analysis of DA White Dwarfs from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 4
We present an improved spectroscopic and photometric analysis of hydrogen-line DA white dwarfs from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 4 (SDSS DR4) based on model atmospheres that include
The physical properties of white dwarf-main sequence binaries from SDSS
We present a catalogue of 1596 white dwarf-main sequence binaries (WDMS) from the spectroscopic Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 6 (SDSS DR6). We select WDMS binary candidates from template
New white dwarf and subdwarf stars in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 12
White dwarfs carry information on the structure and evolution of the Galaxy, especially through their luminosity function and initial-to-final mass relation. Very cool white dwarfs provide insight
COOL WHITE DWARFS IDENTIFIED IN THE SECOND DATA RELEASE OF THE UKIRT INFRARED DEEP SKY SURVEY
We have paired the second data release of the Large Area Survey of the UKIRT Infrared Deep Sky Survey with the fifth data release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey to identify 10 cool white dwarf
SPECTROSCOPIC CONFIRMATION OF UV-BRIGHT WHITE DWARFS FROM THE SANDAGE TWO-COLOR SURVEY OF THE GALACTIC PLANE
We present spectroscopic observations confirming the identification of hot white dwarfs among UV-bright sources from the Sandage Two-color Survey of the Galactic Plane and listed in the Lanning (Lan)
A SPECTROSCOPIC ANALYSIS OF WHITE DWARFS IN THE KISO SURVEY
We present a spectroscopic analysis of white dwarfs found in the Kiso survey. Spectroscopic observations at high signal-to-noise ratio have been obtained for all DA and DB stars in the Kiso Schmidt
A Detailed Model Atmosphere Analysis of Cool White Dwarfs in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
We present optical spectroscopy and near-infrared photometry of 126 cool white dwarfs (WDs) in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). Our sample includes high proper motion targets selected using the
Observational constraints on the evolutionary connection between PG 1159 stars and DO white dwarfs
The Sloan Digital Sky Survey has provided spectra of a large number of new PG 1159 stars and DO white dwarfs. This increase in known hot H-deficient compact objects significantly improves the

A Catalog of Spectroscopically Identified White Dwarf Stars in the First Data Release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
We present the full spectroscopic white dwarf and hot subdwarf sample from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) first data release, DR1. We find 2551 white dwarf stars of various types, 240 hot
A New Very Cool White Dwarf Discovered by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
Early data taken during commissioning of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) have resulted in the discovery of a very cool white dwarf. It appears to have stronger collision-induced absorption from
A Catalog of Spectroscopically Selected Close Binary Systems from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release Four
We present a spectroscopic sample of 747 detached close binary systems from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Fourth Data Release. The majority of these binaries consist of a white dwarf primary
Discovery of New Ultracool White Dwarfs in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
We report the discovery of five new white dwarfs in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. Four are ultracool, exhibiting strong collision-induced absorption (CIA) from molecular hydrogen and are similar in
An Initial Survey of White Dwarfs in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
An initial assessment is made of white dwarf and hot subdwarf stars observed in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. In a small area of sky (190 square degrees), observed much like the full survey will be,
Magnetic White Dwarfs from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey: The First Data Release
Beyond its goals related to the extragalactic universe, the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) is an effective tool for identifying stellar objects with unusual spectral energy distributions. Here we
Cool White Dwarfs in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
A reduced proper motion diagram utilizing Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) photometry and astrometry and USNO-B plate astrometry is used to separate cool white dwarf candidates from metal-weak,
