The morphological types of 5836 galaxies were classified by a visual inspection of color images using the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7 to produce a morphology catalog of a representative sample of local galaxies with z < 0.01 ?> . The sample galaxies are almost complete for galaxies brighter than r pet = 17.77 ?> . Our classification system is basically the same as that of the Third Reference Catalog of Bright Galaxies with some simplifications for giant galaxies. On the other hand…
Luminosity Profiles of Prominent Stellar Halos
We present a sample of 54 disk galaxies which have well developed extraplanar structures. We selected them using visual inspections from the color images of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. Since the
MORPHOLOGY OF DWARF GALAXIES IN ISOLATED SATELLITE SYSTEMS
The environmental dependence of the morphology of dwarf galaxies in isolated satellite systems is analyzed to understand the origin of the dwarf galaxy morphology using the visually classified
Rotation Curves of Galaxies and Their Dependence on Morphology and Stellar Mass
We study how stellar rotation curves (RCs) of galaxies are correlated on average with morphology and stellar mass (M star) using the final release of Sloan Digital Sky Survey IV MaNGA data. We use
Structure and morphology of the MATLAS dwarf galaxies and their central nuclei
We present a photometric study of the dwarf galaxy population in the low to moderate density environments of the MATLAS (Mass Assembly of early-Type gaLAxies with their fine Structures) deep
Brought to Light. III. Colors of Disk and Clump Substructures in Dwarf Early-type Galaxies of the Fornax Cluster
It has been well established that dwarf early-type galaxies (ETGs) can often exhibit a complex morphology, whereby faint spiral arms, bars, edge-on disks, or clumps are embedded in their main,

Abstract We applied GALFIT and STARLIGHT to the r-band images and spectra, respectively, of ~1,100 dwarf galaxies to analyze the structural properties and stellar populations. In most cases, single
A Deep Census of Outlying Star Formation in the M101 Group
We present deep, narrowband imaging of the nearby spiral galaxy M101 and its group environment to search for star-forming dwarf galaxies and outlying H ii regions. Using the Burrell Schmidt
Gemini NIFS survey of feeding and feedback in nearby active galaxies – IV. Excitation
The near-infrared spectra of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) present emission lines of different atomic and molecular species. The mechanisms involved in the origin of these emission lines in AGN are
A comprehensive examination of the optical morphologies of 719 isolated galaxies in the AMIGA sample
Using images from Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 8, we have re-examined the morphology of 719 galaxies from the Analysis of the interstellar Medium in Isolated GAlaxies (AMIGA) project, a
Spectroscopic study of MATLAS-2019 with MUSE: An ultra-diffuse galaxy with an excess of old globular clusters
The MATLAS deep imaging survey has uncovered a plethora of dwarf galaxies in the low density environment it has mapped. A fraction of them are unusually extended and have low surface brightness.

A CATALOG OF DETAILED VISUAL MORPHOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATIONS FOR 14,034 GALAXIES IN THE SLOAN DIGITAL SKY SURVEY
We present a catalog of detailed visual classifications for 14,034 galaxies in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 4 (DR4). Our sample includes nearly all spectroscopically targeted
Color Separation of Galaxy Types in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Imaging Data
We study the optical colors of 147,920 galaxies brighter than g* = 21, observed in five bands by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) over ∼100 deg2 of high Galactic latitude sky along the celestial
HST Photometry of Dwarf Elliptical Galaxies in Coma, and an Explanation for the Alleged Structural Dichotomy between Dwarf and Bright Elliptical Galaxies
As part of a research program exploring how and why dwarf elliptical (dE) galaxies depart from the fundamental plane defined by luminous elliptical (E) galaxies, we have analyzed archival Hubble
DISCOVERY OF NEW DWARF GALAXIES IN THE M81 GROUP
An order of magnitude more dwarf galaxies are expected to inhabit the Local Group, based on currently accepted galaxy formation models, than have been observed. This discrepancy has been noted in
Early-type Galaxies in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. II. Correlations between Observables
A magnitude-limited sample of nearly 9000 early-type galaxies, in the redshift range 0.01 ≤ z ≤ 0.3, was selected from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey using morphological and spectral criteria. The
Virgo Cluster Early-Type Dwarf Galaxies with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. II. Early-Type Dwarfs with Central Star Formation
Despite the common picture of an early-type dwarf galaxy (dE) as a quiescent galaxy with no star formation and little gas, we identify 23 dEs that have blue central colors caused by recent or ongoing
Structural Parameters of Dwarf Galaxies in the Coma Cluster: On the Origin of dS0 Galaxies
In this paper we analyze the structural parameters of the dwarf galaxies in the Coma Cluster with -18 ≤ MB ≤ -16 and classify them into two types; those with surface brightness profiles well fitted
DEMOGRAPHY OF SLOAN DIGITAL SKY SURVEY EARLY-TYPE GALAXIES FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF RADIAL COLOR GRADIENTS
We have investigated the radial g − r color gradients of early-type galaxies in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) DR6 in the redshift range 0.00 ⩽ z ⩽ 0.06. The majority of massive early-type
Internal and Collective Properties of Galaxies in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
We examine volume-limited samples of galaxies drawn from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey to look for relations among internal and collective physical parameters of galaxies as faint as Mr = -17.5. We
HOW TYPICAL ARE THE LOCAL GROUP DWARF GALAXIES?
We compare the cumulative star formation histories (SFHs) of Local Group (LG) dwarf galaxies with those in the volume-limited ACS Nearby Galaxy Survey Treasury (ANGST) sample (D ≲ 4 Mpc), in order to
