A catalog of X-ray plasma ejections (XPEs) observed by the Soft X-ray Telescope on board the Yohkoh satellite has been recently developed in the Astronomical Institute of the University of Wroclaw. The catalog contains records of 368 events observed in years 1991-2001 including movies and cross-references to associated events like flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs). One hundred sixty-three XPEs out of 368 in the catalog were not reported until now. A new classification scheme of XPEs is…

Hot Plasma Associated with a Coronal Mass Ejection

- 2013
We analyze coordinated observations from the EUV Imaging Spectrometer (EIS) and X-Ray Telescope (XRT) on board Hinode of an X-ray Plasma Ejection (XPE) that occurred during the coronal mass ejection…
Mass and energy of erupting solar plasma observed with the X-Ray Telescope on Hinode
- Physics

We investigate seven eruptive plasma observations by Hinode/XRT. Their corresponding EUV and/or white light CME features are visible in some events. Five events are observed in several passbands in…
The Association of Solar Flares with Coronal Mass Ejections During the Extended Solar Minimum
- Physics
- 2013
We study the association of solar flares with coronal mass ejections (CMEs) during the deep, extended solar minimum of 2007 – 2009, using extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) and white-light (coronagraph)…

Relation between Flare-associated X-Ray Ejections and Coronal Mass Ejections.
- PhysicsThe Astrophysical journal
- 1999
Although the role of the flare-associated plasma ejection in a CME is still unclear, it is proposed that its occurrence depends on the presence of open field lines, which can be due to a preceding CME.
A study of flare-associated X-ray plasma ejections. I. Association with coronal mass ejections
- Physics
- 2005
We have made a comprehensive statistical study of the relationship between flare-associated X-ray plasma ejections and coronal mass ejections (CMEs). For this we considered all flare-mode data in…
Multiple Plasmoid Ejections and Associated Hard X-ray Bursts in the 2000 November 24 Flare

- 2010
The Soft X-ray Telescope (SXT) on board Yohkoh revealed that the ejection of X-ray emitting plasmoid is sometimes observed in a solar flare. It was found that the ejected plasmoid is strongly…
The X-ray signature of solar coronal mass ejections

The coronal response to six solar X-ray flares has been investigated. At a time coincident with the projected onset of the white-light coronal mass ejection associated with each flare, there is a…
A Study of Flare-associated X-Ray Plasma Ejections. III. Kinematic Properties

In this study, we have investigated the kinematic properties of flare-associated X-ray plasma ejections. First, we obtained the speed profiles of well-observed several events and compared them with…
X-Ray Plasma Ejection Associated with an Impulsive Flare on 1992 October 5: Physical Conditions of X-Ray Plasma Ejection
- Physics
- 1998
The 1992 October 5 flare was associated with an X-ray plasma ejection. Although the ejected plasma looks like a blob (or plasmoid) in short-exposure images, in long-exposure images it appears to be…
X-ray plasma ejections associated with coronal type II shocks
- Physics

Context. Recent observations suggest that X-ray plasma ejections can drive coronal shocks and metric type IIs that are also generated in close association with the X-ray erupting features. Aims. The…
Hot-Plasma Ejections Associated with Compact-Loop Solar Flares
- Physics

Masuda et al. found a hard X-ray source well above a soft X-ray loop in impulsive compact-loop flares near the limb. This indicates that main energy release is going on above the soft X-ray loop, and…
Hard X-Radiation from a Fast Coronal Ejection
