With the confirmed evidence of rain surface perturbation in recent studies, the rain effects on C-band scatterometer measurements are reevaluated. By using colocated Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission Precipitation Radar, ESCAT on European Remote Sensing Satellites, and European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts data, we evaluate the sensitivity of C-band sigmadeg to rain.
