A Basis for the Comparison of Binary and m-Valued Current Mode Circuits: the Multioperand Addition with Redundant Number Systems

We present m-valued current mode adders for the sum of two (three and four) digits in the Binary Stored-Carry number system that use the smallest set of values for the positional sum They are based on the m-valued to binary current mode converters. The implementation of multioperand additions using these adders compared with the usual binary implementation gives the basis for the evaluation of performance of m-valued current-mode circuits in various technologies.
