A low power 10Gb/s laser diode driver is realized in a 0.2/spl mu/m SiGe HBT technology, using a Miller compensated output switch driven by a push-pull emitter follower pair which reduces the predriver supply current by 30%. Low voltage operation is achieved using two common-mode feedback loops that set the output modulation current and the predriver variable currents.
