A thick brane in six dimensions is constructed using two scalar fields. The field equations for 6D gravity plus the scalar fields are solved numerically. This thick brane solution shares some features with previously studied analytic solutions, but has the advantage that the energy-momentum tensor which forms the thick brane comes from the scalar fields rather than being put in by hand. Additionally the scalar fields which form the brane also provide a universal, nongravitational trapping…

Scalar-kinetic branes

This work tries to find out thick brane solutions in braneworld scenarios described by a real scalar field in the presence of a scalar-kinetic term F(X, ϕ)=Xϕm with a single extra dimension, where

Thick brane in 7D and 8D spacetimes

We consider a thick brane model using two interacting scalar fields in 7D and 8D gravity. Using a special choice of potential energy, we obtain numerically regular asymptotically flat vacuum

Introduction to Extra Dimensions and Thick Braneworlds

In this review, we give a brief introduction on the aspects of some extra dimension models and the five-dimensional thick brane models in extended theories of gravity. First, we briey introduce the

Fermion localization on asymmetric two-field thick branes

In this paper we investigate the localization of fermions on asymmetric thick branes generated by two scalars ϕ and χ. In order to trap fermions on the asymmetric branes with kink-like warp factors,

Gravity localization and effective Newtonian potential for Bent thick branes

In this letter, we first investigate the gravity localization and mass spectrum of gravity KK modes on de Sitter and anti-de Sitter thick branes. Then, the effective Newtonian gravitational

Braneworld in f(T) gravity theory with noncanonical scalar matter field

In this paper, we investigate the braneworld scenario in $f(T)$ gravity with a $K$-field as the background field. We consider various different specific forms of $f(T)$ gravity and $K$-field, and

We introduce a numerical procedure to investigate the spectrum of massive modes and its contribution for gravity localization on thick branes. After considering a model with an analytically known

A de Sitter tachyon thick braneworld

Among the multiple 5D thick braneworld models that have been proposed in the last years, in order to address several open problems in modern physics, there is a specific one involving a tachyonic

Fermion resonances on multi-field thick branes

Motivated by the recent work on the fermion resonances on scalar-constructed thick branes (arXiv:0901.3543 and arXiv:0904.1785), we extend the idea to multi-scalar generated thick branes and complete

Color defects in a gauge condensate

The model of an approximate non-perturbative calculations in the SU(3) gauge theory is offered. The approach is based on the separation of ini tial degrees of freedom on ordered and disordered
