Abstract On incubation in vitro , certain 5HT liberators, Toh's kidney extract and oleic acid caused similar release a of 5HT from avian thrombocytes as occurs from mammalian platelets. Glucose was ineffective in preventing the action of Toh's extract or oleic acid on avian cells, a sharp contrast with its marked inhibitory effect on mammalian platelets.
