This study involved immunohistochemistry and intracellular electrophysiology to investigate serotonergic neurotransmission in the sphincter of Oddi (SO). 5-Hydroxytryptamine (HT)-positive neurons (14 cells/preparation) and nerve fibers were observed in the ganglionated plexus.
