The investigation of hybrid optical transmission system (HOTS) [1] with 10 spectral channels of 400Gb/s in a single spectral channel is presented in this paper. Ten spectral channels based HOTS are considered in this work. Each spectral channel consists of 10 digital channels with the bit-rate of 40 Gb/s in a channel. Hence, the total transmission capacity of designed HOTS is 4 Tb/s. Based on determined spectral channel width; a frequency grid for designed system was adopted that is tolerant…

A 1-Tb/s single-channel coherent optical OFDM signal consisting of continuous 4,104 spectrally-overlapped subcarriers is generated using a novel device of recirculating frequency shifter using a single laser with superior flatness and tone-to-noise ratio (TNR).

Blocking Analysis in Hybrid TDM-WDM PONs Supporting Elastic Traffic

This paper develops teletraffic loss models for calculating connection failure probabilities and call blocking probabilities in hybrid TDM-WDM PONs with dynamic wavelength allocation and considers either stream or elastic traffic.

Fiber Optic Communication Systems

Understanding fiber optic transmission systems requires a knowledge of the characteristics of optoelectronic transmitters and receivers, which do not differ much from traditional copper pairs (choice of analog to digital modulation, total attenuation, etc.).
