Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) data is usually represented as 2-dimensional images. By the nature of its acquisition it provides a cross-sectional view of the vessel being examined. This view is not normal for the angiographer who usually tries to view the vessel so as to display its’ long axis in silhouette, a view at right angles to that obtained by IVUS imaging. The 2-D view whilst providing instantaneous access to information does not give length perception nor does it provide a feeling… CONTINUE READING
