While Aspect-oriented programming (AOP) [Kic+97] enables modularization of crosscutting concerns, Reflection [Smi82] is commonly recognized as a valuable instrument for separation of concerns [Coi99]. In this short paper, we explore the relationships between reflection and AOP. This study is carried out in the context of a project about dynamic adaptability of distributed systems [RNTL00].
