We investigate the 1/f noise of the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST) receiver system using drift-scan data from an intensity mapping pilot survey. All the 19 beams have 1/f fluctuations with similar structures. Both the temporal and the 2D power spectrum densities are estimated. The correlations directly seen in the time series data at low frequency f are associated with the sky signal, perhaps due to a coupling between the foreground and the system response. We use… Expand

Removing 1/f noise stripes in cosmic microwave background anisotropy observations
Removal of systematic effects is crucial in present and future CMB experiments mapping large fraction of the sky. Accurate CMB measurements ask for multi-feed array instruments observing the sky withExpand
Simulations for single-dish intensity mapping experiments
H I intensity mapping is an emerging tool to probe dark energy. Observations of the redshifted H I signal will be contaminated by instrumental noise, atmospheric and Galactic foregrounds. The latterExpand
Impact of simulated 1/f noise for HI intensity mapping experiments
Cosmology has entered an era where the experimental limitations are not due to instrumental sensitivity but instead due to inherent systematic uncertainties in the instrumentation and data analysisExpand
Forecast for FAST: from galaxies survey to intensity mapping
The Five-Hundred-Meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope(FAST) is the largest single-dish radio telescope in the world. In this paper, we make forecast on the FAST HI large scale structure survey byExpand
1=f noise and other systematic effects in the Planck-LFI radiometers
We use an analytic approach to study the susceptibility of the Planck Low Frequency Instrument radiometers to various systematic eects. We examine the eects of fluctuations in amplifier gain, inExpand
The Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA Survey. IV. Strategies for Signal Identification and Survey Catalog Reliability
We present a signal-extraction utility written for the purposes of the Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA survey. This survey, when completed, will have covered ~7000 deg2 of the high Galactic latitude sky andExpand
Considerations for a Multi-beam Multi-purpose Survey with FAST
Having achieved 'first-light' right before the opening ceremony on September 25, 2016, the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) is being busily commissioned. Its innovativeExpand
The Tianlai Cylinder Pathfinder array: System functions and basic performance analysis
The Tianlai Cylinder Pathfinder is a radio interferometer array designed to test techniques for 21 cm intensity mapping in the post-reionization Universe, with the ultimate aim of mapping the largeExpand
Destriping CMB temperature and polarization maps
We study destriping as a map-making method for temperature-and-polarization data for cosmic microwave background observations. We present a particular implementation of destriping and study theExpand
The Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA Survey. III. H I Source Catalog of the Northern Virgo Cluster Region
We present the first installment of H I sources extracted from the Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA (ALFALFA) extragalactic survey, initiated in 2005. Sources have been extracted from three-dimensionalExpand
