Models in extra dimensions have unique features. Many of their surprising properties simply result from the underlying 5D structure. This structure shows up as "sum rules" involving the whole tower of Kaluza-Klein factors. In this paper, we present a holographic shortcut and derive these results without solving the eigenvalue problem: we express 4D physical quantities directly in terms of the 5D metric. In warped space, one can go further and isolate the effect of the new physics sector. This…
Dual technicolor with hidden local symmetry
We consider a dual description of the technicolor-like gauge theory within the D4/D8-brane configuration with varying confinement and electroweak symmetry breaking scales. Constructing an effective
Residue theorem and summing over Kaluza-Klein excitations
Applying the equations of motion together with corresponding boundary conditions of bulk profiles at infrared and ultraviolet branes, we verify some lemmas on the eigenvalues of Kaluza-Klein modes in
It is a graviton! or maybe not
A bstractThe discovery of Kaluza-Klein (KK) gravitons is a smoking gun of extra dimensions. Other scenarios, however, could give rise to spin-two resonances of a new stronglycoupled sector and act as
On the evaluation of gluon condensate effects in the holographic approach to QCD
In holographic QCD the effects of gluonic condensate can be encoded in a suitable deformation of the 5D metric. We develop two different methods for the evaluation of first order perturbative
The custodial Randall-Sundrum model: from precision tests to Higgs physics
We reexamine the Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with enlarged gauge symmetry SU(2)L × SU(2)R × U(1)X × PLR in the presence of a brane-localized Higgs sector. In contrast to the existing literature, we
Universal contributions to scalar masses from five dimensional supergravity
A bstractWe compute the effective Kahler potential for matter fields in warped compactifications, starting from five dimensional gauged supergravity, as a function of the matter fields localization.
Electroweak observables in a general 5D background
Warped extra dimensions provide a new playground to study electroweak brea-king and the nature of the higgs field. In this paper we reanalyze the electroweak observables in theories with one extra
Wilson loops in string duals of walking and flavored systems
We consider the vacuum expectation value of Wilson loop operators by studying the behavior of string probes in solutions of type-IIB string theory generated by N{sub c} D5-branes wrapped on an S{sup
Distinguishing among technicolor/warped scenarios in dileptons
A bstractModels of dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking usually include new spin-1 resonances, whose couplings and masses have to satisfy electroweak precision tests. We propose to use dilepton
Exploring holographic Composite Higgs models
A bstractSimple Composite Higgs models predict new vector-like fermions not too far from the electroweak scale, yet LHC limits are now sensitive to the TeV scale. Motivated by this tension, we
