A new monoterpene ester, (+)-bornyl piperate was isolated from the underground roots of Piper aff. pedicellatum and its structure was elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic evidence and confirmed by X-ray analysis. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with a=7.3232(4) A, b=11.4705(7) A, c=23.2520(14) A, V=1943.6(2) A(3). This compound showed an antituberculosis activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (H(37)Ra strain) with the minimum inhibitor concentration (MIC) of…
Antimicrobial, antileishmanial and cytotoxic compounds from Piper chaba
The petroleum ether and chloroform extracts of the root of Piper chaba showed antimicrobial, antileishmanial and cytotoxic activities. Further bioactivity-guided fractionation led to the isolation of
Antifungal and Antioxidant Pyrrole Derivative from Piper Pedicellatum
TLDR
The structure was determined on the basis of extensive spectroscopic studies and confirmed by X-ray crystallography, and a new compound, pedicellamide, was isolated and exhibited antifungal activities against the phytopathogenic fungal organisms.
Anti-tuberculosis neolignans from Piper regnellii.
TOXICOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF A MONOTERPENE ESTER, BORNYL PIPERATE FROM PIPER CHABA ROOT
TLDR
Microscopic examination of the heart, liver, lung and kidney tissues showed inflammation, sinusoidal congestion and necrosis only at a dose of 20 mg/kg, indicating that the bornylpiperate showed moderate toxicity at higher dose in mice.
Structure elucidation and absolute stereochemistry of isomeric monoterpene chromane esters.
TLDR
The absolute configuration of novel monoterpene chromane esters isolated from the aerial parts of Peperomia obtusifolia using chiral chromatography is reported and VCD is reinforced to determine unambiguously theabsolute configuration of structurally complex molecules in solution, without crystallization or derivatization.

Abstract: The GC-FID-MS analyses of the essential oil of Piper pedicellatum collected in the region of Arunachal Pradesh of North East India allowed individuating 86 components, 84 of which were
Alkaloids from Black Pepper (Piper nigrum L.) Exhibit Anti-inflammatory Activity in Murine Macrophages by Inhibiting Activation of NF-κB Pathway.
TLDR
Results indicate that all three compounds from Piper nigrum have the potential anti-inflammatory effects.
Natural product growth inhibitors of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
TLDR
This review covers natural products (secondary metabolites) with reported growth inhibitory activity towards Mycobacterium tuberculosis or related organisms with the express intent of identifying novel scaffolds for the development of new antituberculosis agents.
(E)-3-(1,3-Benzodioxol-5-yl)-1-(2-hydroxy-4,6-dimethoxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one
In the title compound, C18H16O6, a herbicide, the dioxole ring adopts a flattened envelope conformation. The two aromatic rings at either end of the propenone linkage are almost coplanar with it. The
3D QSAR Based Study of Potent Growth Inhibitors of Terpenes as Antimycobacterial Agents
TLDR
A 3D QSAR model of natural product terpenes and their related de- rivative as antimycobacterial agents was developed and exhibits wide-ranging in vitro potency towards Mycobacterium tuberculosis, with minimum inhibitory concentrations from 0.25 g/ml saringosterol through 200 g of diaporthein A.
