In this study a model is proposed for the fin efficiency and thermal resistance of the heat exchanger. Assumptions on the classical fin efficiency theory for heat exchangers-constant fluid temperature, uniform heat transfer coefficient, and one-dimensional heat conduction in the fin-may not satisfy in practice.
