The King's National Roll Scheme (KNRS) was an employment programme implemented for disabled ex-servicemen of the First World War. It was practical, innovative and ahead of its time. However, whilst it has been subject to examination in recent disability history studies, it has generally been ignored in both Great War and disability historiography.
