SummaryThe often changing electron microscopic appearance of the argentaffine (yellow) cells (Kultschitzky cells) of the gastric mucous membrane in rabbits is described. The cells show varying amounts of granules, sometimes no granules at all. According to their changing reducing capacity the secretory granules themselves are osmiophilic or osmiophobic.
