  • Vitamins B1, B6, C and folates were determined in the serum of 70 hospitalized elderly subjects over 75 years. The prevalence rates for low levels of serum vitamins B6, C and folate were particulary high, 91 %, 68 % and 57 % respectively. Because of possible clinical consequences of vitamins deficiencies, a systematic dietary supplementation might be useful in elderly hospitalized patients.
