Abstract The equilibria of the chemical transport of arsenides of the third group with iodine have been studied mainly by Raman spectroscopy of the gaseous phases until 900°C. Above 300°C, AlAs, GaAs and InAs react fully and irreversibly with iodine, giving the metallic triiodide. Then monoiodides are formed above 750°C. These results corroborate the mechanism given in the literature and shown by the following equilibrium: 2M III As (s) + M III I 3(g) ⇌ 3M III I (g) + 0.5 As 4(g) . On the other… CONTINUE READING
