AIM To evaluate the efficacy of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (meloxicam) in acute nonspecific back pain (NSBP) depending on influence of clinical and anamnestic factors. MATERIAL AND METHODS The studied group included 2078 patients presented with an acute NSBP. All study subjects received meloxicam in a dose of 15 mg/day: 86.1% were given intramuscular meloxicam injections for the first 3-5 days and then switched to an oral meloxicam and 13.9% received an oral meloxicam…

Meloxicam in pain syndrome treatment of comorbid diseases patients
TLDR
Meloxicam, which has little effect on the GIT, the lowest relative risk (RR) of complications from the cardiovascular system (CVS) and the therapeutic efficacy of meloxicam is comparable to piroxicam and diclofenac.
Therapy with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and the quality of life of patients with rheumatic diseases
TLDR
Meloxicam is the first predominantly selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase (COX) 2, which appeared in the arsenal of practitioners in the late 90s and has a strong evidence base for efficacy and safety.
An old friend: 25 years of meloxicam use in Russia.
TLDR
A series of large-scale, well-organized randomized controlled trials and observational post-registration studies have confirmed the good efficacy and low incidence of adverse reactions when using meloxicam.

TLDR
A series of large-scale, well-organized randomized controlled trials and observational post-registration studies have confirmed the good efficacy and low incidence of adverse reactions when using meloxicam.

TLDR
The efficacy and safety of parenteral Vitamin B12 in alleviating low back pain and related disability and in decreasing the consumption of paracetamol was confirmed in patients with no signs of nutritional deficiency.
Efficacy and tolerability of intramuscular and oral meloxicam in patients with acute lumbago: a comparison with intramuscular and oral piroxicam.
TLDR
Meloxicam and piroxicam showed a rapid onset of action after i.m. injection, overall efficacy of both therapies was highly rated, and limitations to daily life were greatly reduced in the majority of patients in both groups.
Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs for Sciatica: An Updated Cochrane Review.
TLDR
Very low-quality evidence that the efficacy of NSAIDs for pain reduction is comparable with that of placebo, low- Quality evidence that NSAIDs is better than placebo for global improvement and low- quality evidence for higher risk of adverse effects using NSAIDs compared with placebo are shown.
Oral nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for neuropathic pain.
TLDR
There was no evidence to support or refute the use of oral NSAIDs to treat neuropathic pain conditions, and the adverse events associated with its use in clinical trials were low.
Naproxen With Cyclobenzaprine, Oxycodone/Acetaminophen, or Placebo for Treating Acute Low Back Pain: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
TLDR
Among patients with acute, nontraumatic, nonradicular LBP presenting to the ED, adding cyclobenzaprine or oxycodone/acetaminophen to naproxen alone did not improve functional outcomes or pain at 1 week follow-up, and these findings do not support use of these additional medications in this setting.
Diclofenac plus B vitamins versus diclofenac monotherapy in lumbago: the DOLOR study
TLDR
The combination ofdiclofenac with B vitamins was superior to dicl ofenac monotherapy in lumbago relief after 3 days of treatment, and yielded superior results in pain reduction, improvement of mobility and functionality.

TLDR
A critical appraisal of the existing evidence for the pharmacological treatment of sciatica, with a special focus on the older adult is presented, including polypharmacy, drug interactions, and drug–disease interactions.
The efficacy and tolerability of an 8-day administration of intravenous and oral meloxicam: A comparison with intramuscular and oral diclofenac in patients with acute lumbago
TLDR
It is demonstrated that meloxicam 15 mg i.v. followed by oral therapy is both efficacious and well tolerated in the treatment of acute lumbago, and compares favourably with the standard NSAID, diclofenac, in this indication.
Efficacy and tolerability of muscle relaxants for low back pain: Systematic review and meta‐analysis
TLDR
Five trials provide high quality evidence that muscle relaxants provide clinically significant pain relief in the short term for acute LBP, and there was no eligible RCT evidence to support the efficacy of benzodiazepines in LBP.
