A new lignan along with eight known lignans and a flavonoid were isolated from the rhizomes of Diphylleia sinensis Li.. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of chemical and spectral analysis. The new lignan, compound IX, was named as picropodophyllin-1-ethyl ether (IX). The eight known lignans were identified as podophyllotoxin (I), isopicropodophyllone (II), dehydropodophyllotoxin (III), diphyllin (IV), picropodophyllin (V), podophyllotoxone (VI), 4'-demethylpodophyllotoxin (VII) and…
Exploring Multifunctional Bioactive Components from Podophyllum sinense Using Multi-Target Ultrafiltration
The integrated method of UF–HPLC/MS with multiple drug targets rapidly singled out multi-target bioactive components and partly elucidated their action mechanisms regarding its multiple pharmacological effects from P. sinense, which could provide valuable information about its further development for the new multi- target drug discovery from natural medicines.
Biotechnological interventions for harnessing podophyllotoxin from plant and fungal species: current status, challenges, and opportunities for its commercialization
Understanding of different means of propagation, development of genomic information, and its implications for elucidating podophyllotoxin biosynthesis and metabolic engineering of pathways are focused on.
Antiproliferation and cell apoptosis inducing bioactivities of constituents from Dysosma versipellis in PC3 and Bcap-37 cell lines
This study suggests that most of the compounds from the roots of D. versipellis could inhibit the growth of human carcinoma cells and PTO and DDPT could induce apoptosis of tumor cells.
Alleviation of Podophyllotoxin Toxicity Using Coexisting Flavonoids from Dysosma versipellis
It is demonstrated for the first time that the coexisting flavonoids have great protective effects against the POD toxicity, and results of this study highlighted the great potential of searching for effective antidotes against toxins based on the pharmacological clues.
Simultaneous determination of three major lignans in rat plasma by LC-MS/MS and its application to a pharmacokinetic study after oral administration of Diphylleia sinensis extract.
A sensitive and selective liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry was developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of three major lignans in rat plasma following oral administration of Diphylleia sinensis extract to rats.
Protective effects and mechanisms of curcumin on podophyllotoxin toxicity in vitro and in vivo.
