[Stability of tetracycline during fermentation].


The stability of tetracycline was studied at pH 6.0 and 1.5. The thermal inactivation constant at the lower pH was found to vary between 1.62 min-1 (40 degrees C) and 65.83 min-1 (100 degrees C). A degradation mechanism was proposed in the light of the variation of entropy and steric factors.
