We report the case of a 79-year old woman with a retroperitoneal liposarcoma. The condition was discovered because of the association, in a woman of that age, of anaemia and persistent fever. The diagnosis was suggested by computed tomography. Treatment was exclusively surgical. Liposarcomas usually affect men in their sixth decade. Postoperative radiotherapy improves the quality of life but does not prolong survival. Metastases are frequent, and death usually occurs in the year that follows… CONTINUE READING
