The oral contraceptive Noracyclin 22 was used by 5 patients, 30-43 years of age, to treat medical problems for 4-20 months, even though the patients all had severe hepatic disorders. Tests to determine serum enzyme and serum bilirubin levels and paper electrophoresis of the serum protein were performed before, during, and after treatment for up to 20 months. No worsening of the laboratory parameters was observed during the observation period and in some cases, improvement was recorded.
