OBJECTIVE To assess the modulating effects of vitamin D3, combined with or without tamoxifen, on cell proliferation and EGFR mRNA level of human breast cancer. METHODS Two breast cancer cell lines (MCF-7 and ZR-75-1) were treated with various concentrations of vitamin D3, alone or in combination with tamoxifen, for 6 days.
