  • Medroxyprogesterone acetate was tested as a contraceptive administered parenterally in 150 mg doses every 3 months for a total of 3300 cycles without any pregnancy. Side effects were minimal and without clinical significance. A slight tendency to weight gain (500 gm/year) was observed; apparently however it was not entirely due to the use of the drug. Menstrual bleeding showed considerable alterations but they were well tolerated. The ovarian function was found to be reversible 4-11 months… CONTINUE READING
