Radiologic revascularization procedures--i.e., percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) and fibrinolysis--are a valuable alternative to surgery in the treatment of stenoses and occlusions of the visceral vessels, that is the celiac tripod and the superior and inferior mesenteric arteries.
