[Intercellular matrix of Bacillus subtilis 271: polymeric composition and function].

Abstract

It was found that the intercellular matrix of Bacillus subtilis 271 mainly consists of alpha-1,4-glucan (65% of dry matter), branched at some C-3 residues of the polymeric chain, and poly-D-glutamic acid (19% of dry matter).
