Experiments on different groups of guinea pigs inoculated with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MBT) and intact guinea pigs who received coal refining products and control ones indicated that long exposure to coal-tar resin enhanced mobilization of methionine from the liver with its accumulation in the lung and hematopoietic organs, increased the biosynthesis of arginine in the liver and its accumulation in the lung and hematopoietic organs.
