A group of 100 women taking Femigen were followed for 4 years. There was a control group of 50 women who did not take the drug. The purpose of the study was to explain the effect of Femigen on the incidence of hypertension in women taking the drug. Hypertension was significantly more frequent in the Femigen group (16%) then among controls (10%). The occurrence of hypertension was related to contraceptive duration.
