Fluorosis caused by long-term intake of high fluoride levels is characterized by clinical bone and tooth manifestations. The adverse impact of high fluoride intake was also observed in soft tissues. Although fluorosis is irreversible it could be prevented by appropriate and timely interventions through the understanding of the process at biochemical and molecular levels.
