The authors present an account on excimer laser photorefractive keratectomy on 254 myopic eyes with a minimal follow-up period of 6 months. The mean preoperative refraction -6.31 +/- 4.02 D was reduced to -0.92 +/- 1.3 D. A difference between the planned and achieved correction of less than 0.5 was recorded in 33.5% eyes, less than 1.0 D in 59.4% eyes and less than 1.5 D 77.6% eyes.
