OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of danshen(Salvia plectranthoides Griff.) and shengmaiye (Panax ginseng C. A. Mey, Ophiopogon japonicus Ker-Gawl and Schisandra chinensis Baill) on glomerulosclerosis induced by adriamycin in SD rats. METHODS Left kidney of the animals was removed and after 7 days, adriamycin(6 mg.kg-1) was injected through tail vein, so as to establish an animal disease model. Then danshen or shengmaiye was injected to peritoneal cavity of the rats. All rats were killed…
