PURPOSE OF THE STUDY The aim of this study was to report cases of acetabular failure of metal-on-metal total hip arthroplasties using cemented cups with a metal-metal bearing. MATERIAL AND METHODS From 1997 to 1999, 137 patients underwent total hip arthroplasty with a 28-mm head and a metal-metal (Metasul) bearing.
